John Gertz has  been involved in the field of SETI for more than 20 years, having served three terms as chairman of the board of the world famous SETI Institute (www.seti.org), the president of a new organization that successfully campaigned to raise $100 million for SETI research, and he currently the only layman on the Breakthrough Listen board that advises on the use of that $100 million fund.
